The sports festival, back this weekend in the Governor’s garden, will welcome more than 100 exhibitors, including 70 sports clubs and 15 structures. For two days, 55 different sports will be presented.
For Alexandre Pérol, deputy mayor in charge of sports and youth, “ the objective of these two days is that each person wishing to practice a sport can find their account and their association. Last year, people were inspired to adopt a sport. This year, the motto is “Move as you are”. We can be anything. Even in relation to our profession, there is always a sport attached to it “.

A total of 9 different themes will be represented in the Governor’s garden
: artistic sports, combat sports, thinking sports, racket sports, water sports, mobility, team sports, health sports and individual sports. Each theme offers several different sports, which visitors can try out.
An early childhood and youth stand, a disabled sports area and sports for all are also planned.
“Last year was a success”
Forty clubs were present at the sports festival last year, which attracted 12,000 visitors. The archery and water polo clubs, in particular, had done well by gaining visibility and enrolling new members.

Despite the closure of the American football club and the drop in karate membership, overall the sport of Arras is doing well, according to Alexandre Pérol, ” with 96 sports clubs, 10,000 members and 1.6 million euros of investment “.
In total, the sports festival cost €115,000 to the city of Arras.
