A Welwyn Garden City-based fitness club has won two awards at the Anytime Fitness National Conference.
Welwyn Garden City-based Anytime Fitness beat 200 other branches across the UK to win Club Team of the Year and Mystery Shop Performance awards.
Managing Director John Turner said: “It was a great honor to win two awards. Especially since the awards were based on team performance, which I think sets us apart from other gyms.
“We provide an environment where all members feel part of a community and not just a number. We try to greet everyone with a smile and a warm welcome and always strive to get to know our members on a more personal level.
“Our club’s performance has been excellent over the past 12 months and our recovery from the COVID pandemic has been a testament to the friendly and engaging team we have in place.
“It was also due to our hard work to integrate our club into the community with charities, partnerships and social events. We have established a good relationship with Oaklands College as well as the council, providing access to the gym and classes for people in unfortunate situations.
The WGC team had earned the highest score in their Mystery Shop audit. The score was based on three parts where they were assessed on how well they handled different types of requests; email, phone call and physical appointment.
“I got the email and phone inquiries, but a big shout out to Felicia for destroying the all-important walk-in mystery shop.
Along with this win, the WGC team was also shortlisted for Gym Team of the Year for the National Fitness Awards.
“To be shortlisted for the second year in a row is a huge achievement. These awards bring together the elite of the fitness industry and to be included in this group of incredible health clubs and fitness individuals highlights our philosophy and our community. of gym.
“The level of competition is very high and we are extremely proud to even be shortlisted. Hopefully we can bring it back to Welwyn Garden City this time around,” added John.
