Home to over 60,000 students and iconic venues such as The Leadmill, there aren’t many better cities to kick off a hectic college adventure with countless messy parties. There are dozens of student parties and offers, so there really is something for everyone.
The good news is that when you head off to college, you know you’re going to have an unreal time. But only if you know which sites to direct to. Here are the best student bars and clubs in Sheffield to familiarize yourself with before you move. You’ll be an expert before the freshmen!
The lead mill

Let’s start this list with one of Sheffield’s most iconic student clubs. The Leadmill has long been a favorite hangout for many students, with a variety of club nights to suit any mood. You might find yourself hitting the dance floor with indie, rock and metal anthems. Or maybe you’ll dance to their 80s pop and disco classics or ABBA party. They even have special Fridays for students where you can sip 80p vodka mixers and slap on two £2 Jagerbombs.

The Cavendish

Where: 220-238 West Street, Sheffield S1 4EU
This massive student bar in Sheffield might just be the best place to start your night. For starters, there’s plenty of space, so you’re almost certain to find a spot somewhere. There is also plenty of entertainment such as the pool, TVs showing sports, darts etc. There is a beer garden so you can enjoy our fleeting sunshine and although it is a pub they do offer cocktails!
Coded

Code is the largest of Sheffield’s student clubs and has won numerous awards over the years, which would explain why students can’t get enough. With house, disco and the occasional techno banger, Code is where you go to dance until your legs can’t hold you anymore. If you’re looking for cheap drinks, Code can also help with Student Saturdays, Wonderland Tuesdays, and Pounding Fridays.

Foundry

Where: Sheffield Students Union Western Bank, Sheffield S10 2TG
If you’re looking to make new student friends, Foundry is a great shout out as it’s located within the University of Sheffield Students’ Union. It also means that everything they do is student-focused and never overpriced. Foundry even hosts a few freshman events and welcome parties so you can see what the fuss is about before term even begins. Whether you head to Foundry for their indie party, Propaganda, or Pop Tarts, a 90s, 00s, and 10s party, you’ll have a blast.

West Street Live

Open daily until 4am, West Street Live is perhaps the best place to hang out in Sheffield midweek. But if that hasn’t convinced you, they also offer doubles for £2.50 from Sunday to Thursday, 2 for 4 cocktails for £6 a day, pitchers for £6.50 and many other amazing drink offers. They start each night with live bands before descending into a club night so you can enjoy two types of parties under one roof.

Corporation have been one of the top student clubs in Sheffield for some time now. Their Monday Corp event might be the best on offer, with tickets (including skip-the-line) starting at 50p. There are three music rooms playing house, dance, bass, hip hop, indie, rock, pop punk, and more. But if that’s not you, there’s also an alternative night out, Drop and Dirty Deeds on Saturdays, which claims to have the cheapest Saturday drinks in Sheffield.

Forum

Mid-week catch-up? A drink after a conference? A beer in the sun? Forum is Sheffield’s best student bar for work. We don’t know about you, but we’re pretty obsessed with bottomless brunches. We will never say no to a day of drinking with delicious food. And at the Forum they have a bottomless brunch every day for just £30! And for mid-week fun, head for their quiz on Wednesdays. Keep an eye out for their other shiny events ahead, including the 2022 World Cup screening.
TO FORGE

FORGE is a brand new warehouse club and cultural center opening soon, and students are sure to be interested. Just about any genre is welcome, but the focus is on drums and bass, house and techno. Their huge sound system and unique LED lights give FORGE a leg up on many other clubs. And with Sunken, one of Sheffield’s most popular student nights, finding a new home there, we’re sure FORGE will be hitting every day of the week.

If we’re being honest, making this list was pretty tricky, as there are so many killer student clubs and bars in Sheffield. The city is perfect for student parties, no matter what vibe you’re looking for, your musical tastes or your budget. If you’re heading to Steel City for college, you’ll have an unreal time.
