Above / Jefferson Avenue is now closed, but the block between Webster and Main Street will open for the Labor Day Parade on Monday, September 5. After the parade, the block will close in for construction to continue on the ongoing streetscape project, which is expected to be completed this month.

Original post, September 4, 2022 / At 10 a.m. on Sunday, September 5, the annual Labor Day Parade kicks off community spirit with a colorful showcase of marching bands, first responders, entertainment, upcoming fundraisers, political candidates and businesses local.
Spectators are asked to line the sidewalks from where the parade descends to Naperville North High School, following a route south along Mill Street, east along Jefferson Avenue, south down Main Street and west on Porter Avenue towards Naperville Central High School where it ends at Webster Street.
Special Olympics Champions Ryan Gronowski, Lou Pisani and Peter Silagi share the honor as marshals for the Last Fling Labor Day Parade.
Watch for Frank E. Fling to gather plenty of cheers and applause for the trio of celebrity athletes.
After the parade, a free veterans lunch will be held near the Coors Light Chill Stage on Jackson Avenue where ARRA wraps up The Last Fling 2022 performing the greatest hits from the greatest bands of all time on Monday at 3:45 p.m. Rick Lindy and the Savages! from 12 p.m.
Family attractions include Karaoke, Reptile Show, Last Fling Handprints and Acrodazzle’s Stilts, Juggling and Balloon Twisting.

The 2022 Last Fling continues through Sunday, September 4 as an end-of-summer block party-style event along Jackson Avenue in downtown Naperville.
Join chapter members, volunteers, and neighbors for weekend live music, food and drink, and carnival fun!
Note that Special Needs Day runs from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 4. Customers with special needs will enjoy exclusive, priority, no-wait seating with an exclusive wristband. All participants must have an attendant and wristbands are only valid for people with special needs.
The park opens to the public at 10 a.m. and the bracelets remain valid until 2 p.m. Stop at the carnival ticket office to pick up a wristband starting at 9:30am. Take advantage of Carnival Deal Days all weekend with unlimited rides during Carnival hours for $30 per person, per day or Carnival Mega Passes can be purchased, in advance, for $55 at participating Jewel-Osco stores and $65 on site during the weekend.
Family events include gardening with the Green Earth Institute, the Cupcake Eating contest, line dancing, water balloon tossing, and performances by School of Rock and DJ Chryptik.
At 2 o’clock in the afternoon90’s Pop Nation will perform covers of the biggest pop hits, one-hit wonders, backing vocals and dance hits from the 90s.
At 5:15 p.m.The Ron Burgundy’s will sing soft rock from the 60s, 70s and 80s!
At 20 hoursSixteen Candles Band end the evening with their undeniably energetic and exciting concert experience, organizers said.
Last Fling since the mid-1960s
The Last Fling is the Naperville Jaycees’ biggest fundraiser, raising over two million dollars for Naperville and DuPage County nonprofits over the past 20 years.
The Jaycees express their deepest gratitude to the volunteers and sponsors who have continued to support the organization over the years.

Naperville Jaycees is a non-profit service organization for young professionals dedicated to providing Naperville area residents with the opportunity to improve and grow personally and professionally while giving through community service and fundraising efforts. The band’s annual events include: Rock the Mic, Easter Egg Hunt, Lobster Day and countless other exciting projects that positively impact the community. The group also organizes and manages the Last Fling in close cooperation with the City of Naperville, the Naperville Park District, many Naperville community organizations and hundreds of volunteers.
Proceeds from the Last Fling benefited the Naperville Riverwalk with generous donations for a playground, marina, gazebo and other amenities as well as numerous donations for non-profit organizations in Naperville and surrounding communities.
Monthly meetings are open to everyone and are held on the second Tuesday of each month at the Judd Kendall VFW, located at 908 West Jackson Avenue in Naperville.
