TAFCO Rural Supplies offers $338,000 combined discount to members
ANOTHER successful trading year has seen the directors of TAFCO Rural Supplies issue a 5% dividend on shares and a 5% rebate on members’ 12 months trading to March 31, 2022.
The Myrtleford-based community co-op will return just over $338,000 to members as a credit to their account this month, bringing its return to members and the community to more than $4 million since its inception in 1987 for serve tobacco and other producers in the region.
TACFO chief executive Rupert Shaw said the co-op continues to grow with new members joining every year.
“Anyone who trades can become a member,” he said.
“It’s not just the farming community that benefits from membership.
“If you’re shopping at TAFCO for pet food, garden supplies, or even just salami-making supplies, you should consider becoming a member – it’s open to all members of the community who shop. goods.
“We work on fair competitive pricing and return benefits to members through trade discounts and stock ownership dividends, with a focus on rewarding members for their trade.
“Truly local – every purchase you make at TAFCO supports a local business with 700 member shareholders, employing and training local people and returning profits to members.”
Community membership has just been launched and works in the same way as the loyalty clubs offered by some companies – but if you join TAFCO, you become a member of the cooperative.
“TAFCO is about our members and the community, this year we continued to support the Into Our Hands Community Foundation and GROW Myrtleford+, the local philanthropic trust,” said TAFCO Chairman Lachlan Campbell.
“Members have the option to make a tax-deductible donation of their TAFCO rebate/dividend directly to the foundation.”
TAFCO also leverages the successful Myrtleford Farmers Market which is held on the fourth Saturday of the month in Myrtleford Piazza and also runs a series of local online weather stations giving the area access to local weather in real time.
