The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee will see a variety of different events take place in Wiltshire over the four-day bank holiday weekend. From Thursday 2nd June to Sunday 5th June there is an abundance of planned celebrations, street parties and picnics to choose from as many take advantage of two extra days off.
Live music at Pimms in the park at Lydiard Parks in Swindon, at a prom picnic at the Antrobus house in Amesbury there is something for all the family over the long weekend. Many are free to enter with a few paid events as well.

Amesbury
May 30 to June 4 – Wiltshire Council Libraries have a host of activities planned for toddlers across the county. You can visit the Amesbury Library for a hunt, coloring, wreath making and celebrating 70 activities that take place throughout the week. All events are walk-in, so reservations are not necessary. For other events, more details can be found on the individual library Facebook pages for times and days.
Thursday, June 2 – Amesbury Town Council invites you to the Beacon Lighting Ceremony at Country Park behind Kings Gate Primary School. You can come at 8:15 p.m. and the lighting will take place at 9:09 p.m. The Veterans Breakfast Club will serve hot drinks and food and limited parking is available at Centenary Car Park.
Sunday June 5 – A prom-style picnic is planned on the back lawn of Antrobus House to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. They say “Pass the Pimms…it’s time to party like it’s 1952!”
The sensational ‘Jazz Queen’ Sandy Ince from Sticky Toffee Jazz will keep everyone entertained throughout the day and we will also be joined by Amesbury Town Band.
Bradford-on-Avon
Friday, June 3 – A day of fun at Lions Fun Day on Bank Holiday Friday. They’ve got even more fun for the kids with a Jubilee-themed costume contest with lots of prizes to be won. It will start at 11am on Culver Close and there are categories for 0-5 year olds, 6-9 year olds and 10-14 year olds. Come as a current or past king, queen, prince or princess or even corgi.
Saturday June 4 – Bradford-on-Avon will host a Jubilee Live Music Festival across Lamb Yard and Westbury Garden as part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. From 2:40 p.m. to 10 p.m. with superb headliners to mark a memory.
Sunday June 5 – In conjunction with Bradford-on-Avon City Council and the Alex Moulton Charitable Trust, enjoy a day of music outside The Hall in Bradford on Avon. Glastonbury Brass, the Wiltshire Jazz Academy and a number of local soloists will perform, with a performance by Punch and Judy from Cornwall! Cru Wines, Fresh Kitchen and Lacock Dairy will offer you sweet and savory treats throughout the day.
The event takes place from 2pm to 5.30pm at the Hall in Bradford-on-Avon. Tickets cost £15 for adults, £10 for children (2-18 years old) or £45 for families up to 5 people.
Devizes
Thursday June 2 to June 4 – A Platinum Jubilee Art Exhibition featuring fabulous works by renowned artist Joanna May and schoolchildren from Devizes will be on display throughout the weekend.
Friday, June 3 – Join the party at The Shambles for the Jubilee edition of their famous ‘Longest Table’ event. Just bring a dish to share and enjoy the ambiance of the Devizes lounge.
Saturday June 4– Something exciting in Hillworth Park to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee – It’s the Devizes Trolley Olympics!
Bring the family to enjoy the sight of teams pushing their carts (kindly provided by Morrisons) around the Olympic track, then dribbling a football past their cart, and finally catching balls in their carts, all while trying to avoid the obstacles on the track.
Track events will be followed by the Olympic Marathon and Olympic Side Shows so you can test your skills in areas such as golf, bowling and a shy coco. All profits will be donated to good local causes.
Sunday June 5 – Join Devizes Town Band for the final day of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations at Picnic in the Park. It also starts at noon in beautiful Hillworth Park. The event is completely free and includes an hour of music that you can dance, swing, sing or just listen to.
They say just come, bring a picnic and have a brilliant afternoon.
Malmesbury
Thursday, June 2– Malmesbury City Council will join the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacons and associated activities on June 2, 2022. The Beacon is one of thousands lit across the UK and Commonwealth, and will be lit at Cuckingstoo Mead, one of over 2,022 lit by charities, communities and church groups across the UK.
Sunday June 5– They will also be hosting a Jubilee Picnic in the Cloister Gardens behind Malmesbury Abbey between 12.30pm and 3.30pm. Bring your own picnic and enjoy children’s entertainment, including a parade and costume contest.
Marlborough
Saturday June 4 – Live music, food and family fun at The Parade Cinema’s Family Festival. And its totally free entry!
Thursday, June 2 – There will be a High Street Party on Thursday from 2-5pm. With a road closure in place, the fabulously wide High Street will be transformed into a party zone with hoarding, streamers, tables and chairs all laid out for a traditional street party.
There will be entertainment, kids’ activities and more – just bring your camping chairs and a picnic.
Friday, June 3 – A family afternoon tea to celebrate the Queen at Marlborough Recreation Ground. There’s a pet show, food and drink, and great games to take part in, including a tug of war. Lots of fun throughout the day between 3:30 and 5 p.m.
Melksham
Thursday, June 2 – Local DJ Mister M hosts a Boogie Wonderland 70’s & 80s Soul and Disco party. From 7 p.m. in the Assembly Hall. Costumes are highly recommended – Tickets £5 in advance and £7 at the door.
Saturday June 4 – Join the community in the market square for a festive fair with fairground rides, stalls and music. Sign up for your very own Jubilee Tree, visit the Royal Photo Exhibition at Town Hall and enjoy food and drink from our local businesses. everything between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Sunday, June 5 – A Big Jubilee Picnic is held at the King George V Playground between noon and 4 p.m. Fun for the whole family, including entertainment for children. Bring a picnic, blanket and your outdoor games for an afternoon of connection and community.
Salisbury
Friday, June 3 – The largest community garden party, Afternoon Tea, Jubilee Disco Celebration for the Queen takes place at the Old Railway Hotel in Porton. They say “Come eat, drink, socialize, celebrate and dance in your local, historic, community pub, restaurant and hotel that has been saved and renovated by the community for the community”. And this will be the inauguration of their new outdoor space.
Until June 12 – Over the next few weeks, you can take part in this historic celebration with the official Salisbury family stories trail. They have one of the fanciful characters in the gallery and there are 6 more to find as you adventure through the city. Not only that, but Sir Barnaby Beacon will guide you through the history of the Queen’s 70-year reign.
Simply scan the QR codes, displayed at 7 nearby locations, to collect digital stamps. You will be able to choose what happens in the story and see the characters come to life in augmented reality.
Saturday June 4 – Family and friends from Goodbody Road, Larkhill community host a BBQ on the putting green to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Swindon
June 3-5 – Celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee at Lydiard Parks Pimm’s In The Park 2022. Join the three-day party which is free to attend and features plenty of live music, family entertainment, world food and a bar.
Sunday June 5 – South Swindon Parish Council is hosting a grand Jubilee Luncheon to celebrate the Queen’s 70th anniversary on the throne. Join them for the opportunity to get to know your local community while enjoying a picnic in our beautiful park this summer.
Sunday June 5 – A big street party is planned in the Old Town for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Live music, stilt walkers and more on Wood Street from 12pm to 5pm.
Warminster
May 30-June 4 – Warminster City Council is holding a series of events to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Including a Walk Down Memory Lane exhibit. They will showcase the memories and experiences of the public at the Civic Center in an exhibit that will run all week.
Thursday, June 2 – They will also present a film screening of The Queen’s Corgi at the Warminster Civic Centre. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. and the movie starts at 2 p.m. Refreshments will be available at the Civic Center Coffee Bar.
Saturday June 4 – If you picture yourself as a star baker, take part in the Bake Off, Party, Party & Fancy Dress Competition at the Warminster Civic Center from 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
