1. Remove the brew basket

The first step is to remove your basket, which is best left until your infuser has cooled. If you’re using pods, the team suggests removing the Ninja pod adapter and brew basket before thoroughly washing the used parts with soap and warm water.

2. Clean the frother whisk

Ninja experts then suggest cleaning the frother whisk after each use. It is best to wash it thoroughly by hand or place it on the top rack of your dishwasher.

3. Clean the carafe and brew

After taking care of the frother whisk and brew basket, it’s time to grab the carafe and brew lid. Ninja experts also suggest using soap and hot water during this step.

“Use a bottle brush or rag to wash the inside of the decanter,” they say. However, the urge not to opt for a wire brush to avoid damage. “For best results, we recommend rinsing the reservoir after brewing and refilling with fresh water for the next brew.”

Also worth noting is that the Glass Carafe, Brew Lid, Permanent Filter, Brew Basket, Water Reservoir, Water Reservoir Lid, Frother Whisk, and Special Ninja Scoop are all things you can clean in a dishwasher.

Clean the water tank

To clean your water tank, Ninja experts suggest emptying your tank and washing it by hand or placing it in your dishwasher. “For better cleaning, we recommend placing it in the bottom rack of the dishwasher, upright with the opening facing down,” they say. They recommend doing this weekly.

Clean your Ninja carafe

To clean your carafe, you should use hot soapy water, to ensure the piece is spotlessly clean between coffees. “To clean the carafe more thoroughly, we recommend using a soft foam brush,” the experts add.

Clean your sliding lid

Maintaining your sliding lid is part of cleaning your best espresso machine, but luckily the process is simple.

‘Open the hinged hood on top of the brewer by pulling on the left side. Once opened, slide the sliding lid on the back of the brewer to remove it,” the experts say. They then recommend washing the sliding lid by hand with warm soapy water before putting the sliding lid back in its tracks and closing the hinged hood. However, it is important to note that you cannot put your sliding lid in the dishwasher.

Can you clean a Ninja coffee maker with vinegar?

No, it is better to avoid cleaning with vinegar. This solution is harmful to the internal parts of your machine (including rubber gaskets and seals). There’s also the risk of a lingering scent that could detract from the taste of your coffee until it wears off.
