Fun Halloween Events in Yorkshire
There’s something for all ages here in Yorkshire.
Whistlestop Valley Ghost Train, Huddersfield
On the evening of your visit, you will be assigned a specific train departure time which will take you on a chilling journey from Clayton West Station to an unknown location. The time you select when booking a ticket is the time your train departs from Clayton West station.
The ghost train journey will last approximately one hour and will take place on the evenings of Saturday October 29 and Sunday October 30, 2022. Tickets will include a return steam train ride, a 45 minute to one hour ghost train experience, access at the Firebox Cafe and rides on the Clayton Flyer Miniature Railroad.
Be careful of young children boarding the train as it will be a terrifying experience. No children under the age of five will be admitted.
Tickets cost £10.95 for adults, £10.95 for children aged 5-16, £39.95 for a family of four and £49.95 for a family of five.
Halloween at Gravity Yorkshire, Castleford
Get ready to jump at Gravity Yorkshire this Halloween as ghosts and ghouls take over the trampoline park. The room offers a selection of diabolical nightmares for a haunted return to school which ends on Thursday, October 27.
Thrill seekers can revel in the trampolines to pump up their adrenaline while battling spooky critters, ghosts and ghouls. These bounce sessions are just £4.95.
On Saturday, October 29 from 5-7 p.m., those who enjoy spooky activities can bounce among the demons for a two-hour Halloween party to the sound of spooky tunes. This event is not just for adults, but also for toddlers, so families are invited to participate in the event lineup with themed bounce-back sessions for parents and toddlers that include stories of ghosts by torchlight on Friday October 28 and Saturday October. 29.
Stranger Things Halloween Party, Keighley
The event will feature goo, weaving hooks and a lineup of singers including The Breeders, The Beths and Pixies.
The Glory Holes will also feature a special ’80s party set with a punk twist in honor of one of Netflix’s most popular sci-fi shows, Stranger Things. There will also be Stranger Things-themed soundtracks throughout the night as well as cocktails inspired by the show.
Dressing up is mandatory and starts from 7:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday October 29 and Sunday October 30. The event will take place at The Exchange on Russell Street and tickets cost £6 in advance and £8 at the door.
This event started on Tuesday, October 25 and will end on Monday, October 31. Lotherton is hosting a spooky new Halloween attraction for youngsters in Leeds. The site will transform its daytime, family-friendly ‘scary skeleton trail’ into a nighttime ‘Skeleskare’, an exciting attraction for ages eight to 15 looking for a spooky experience.
Visitors will be able to sneak past Lotherton House, while trying not to ‘wake the skeletons’, head to the Lost Village where the ‘Crazy Butcher’ will be waiting to welcome them to his chop house and finally walk through the ‘Haunted Woods’ . ‘.
The attraction will feature spooky actors, installations, and sound and light effects throughout the event. It will run from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. each day between October 25 and 31. Tickets cost £9 for adults and £4.55 for children aged 8-17.
Halloween Family Party, Hull
This is a family event at the 19th century mansion Mercure Hull Grange Park. It includes a disco, games, Mr Shiney children’s entertainer, raffle, crafts and a bag of treats for children aged 2-12.
Money raised from this event will go to the PAUL charities of the year for Brain Recovery and Mind Hull and East Yorkshire. It will take place on Sunday, October 30 and will start at 2 p.m. Tickets cost £8 for adults and £4 for children.
Halloween weekend, Armley, Leeds
You can learn all about the history of Armley Mills in Leeds and its reputation for alleged ghost sightings and unexplained occurrences. The event takes place at the Leeds Industrial Museum.
It will start at 8pm on Saturday October 29 and tickets cost £49. Not for the faint-hearted.
Spooky Sewerby returns to Sewerby Hall and Gardens with fun events and activities including a witches cave, ghost hunting event and a ‘witches’ gathering’.
The events will take place from Thursday October 27 to Sunday October 29. Rusticus Outdoor Wizarding Adventure: Archwizard Fumblefoot will start at 11:30 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 27.
Wildcats: Wildcats Witchery, where you can create a mini witch cave, decorate a witch hat and craft a wand, will start at 11 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 28.
Rusticus Ghost Hunting Adventure will begin at 11:30 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28.
On Fridays, you can also join the Orangerie team to make a bag of treats to take home and try stirring the ‘magic potion’ and ‘casting a spell’. There will also be a Halloween course. Craft sessions take place from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Wildcats: What goes Bump in the Night, where you can make your own Halloween games, starts at 11 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 30.
Cultivate the Wakefield Family Halloween Event
This pumpkin carving event will take place at the Eastmoor Community Garden on Park Hill Lane. It is suitable for all ages and fancy dress is encouraged but not required.
It starts at 2pm and ends at 5pm on Saturday October 29 and tickets cost £3.
Spooktacular Halloween at the Tropical Butterfly House
There will be a Monster Hunt Trail, pumpkin hunt, dress up and a chance to enjoy a hot beverage at Lottie’s Coffee Lounge.
The event takes place at the Tropical Butterfly House in Sheffield and will run daily until Sunday October 31 from 10am-5pm.
