Design and fit-out firm COEL got everyone in the fundraising mood with a day of golf at Ely City Golf Club.
The event was aimed at raising funds for the Phoenix Trust, a Milton-based charity that runs a garden center and kitchen, providing work experience for vulnerable members of society.
Sponsorship of the golf day came from The Cambridge Building Society, Workstories, KRB, Brewers Decorator Centres, Salmons Bros Ltd and Wedd Joinery, with prizes donated by The Ivy Cambridge Brewery, La Raza, Fitzbillies, the Good Plant Company, Brewboard and the old Ely Hall.
Many sponsors formed teams to participate alongside estate agents, including Bidwells, Carter Jonas, Cheffins and Savills, and law firm Birketts.
Neil Cook, Group Director at COEL and Trustee of the Phoenix Trust, said: “The Phoenix Trust and COEL both hold a special place in my life and I am extremely proud to be associated with these two great organisations. Today was a true celebration of how by working together as a community, we can accomplish so much more than we can as individuals.
“I want to thank all of our business associates who have been amazing in supporting this day and helping us raise funds for the Phoenix Trust.”
All seven teams completed the course and over lunch at the clubhouse a talk was given by Jude Tustian, Director of the Phoenix Trust, explaining in more detail the work he does in the local community. In total, the May 13 event raised £3,750.
