Easter activities on offer at The Workhouse, Southwell

A host of nature-themed Easter activities are on offer at The Workhouse, Southwell.

Until April 18, families can enjoy a bespoke route through the outdoor spaces of this historic venue, with plenty of room for the little ones to play while finding new ways to connect with the world. natural.

The trail comes with a pencil and a colorful map to help them follow the route and participate in a variety of fun activities.

They include activities such as spotting what is growing in the vegetable garden, which is full of freshly planted vegetables and fruits attracting a variety of wildlife. Become a hedge detective looking for creatures around the grounds and play a game of hide and seek in front of the Firbeck Infirmary which is an additional building to explore.

There’s plenty to do in the workshop building itself, including an anniversary exhibit celebrating 20 years of operation.

On Thursdays and Saturdays during the Easter holidays, a Workhouse Live! event will take place, which will see costumed performers dressed as historical figures such as a pauper, a schoolmistress, a master and a matron.

They will perform traditional workshop tasks that young visitors can get involved in.

The National Trust is open Wednesday to Sunday, 10.30am to 4pm with last entry at 3pm, and is open all bank holiday weekends.

The trail costs £3 per person and comes with a pencil, trail map and includes an Easter treat at the end.
