The Garden Clubs of District VII of Illinois is offering a one-year $1,000 scholarship to full-time junior, senior, and graduate students at Southern Illinois University pursuing a master’s degree. Second-year students can apply for their first year.
Student must live in Southern Illinois and be from an Illinois county – Alexander, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Massac, Perry, Pope, Saline, Union, White or Williamson.
The application deadline is July 1. The winner will be notified in writing immediately after judging.
The scholarship is open to students majoring in any of the following fields of study: Agronomy; agricultural education; Floriculture; Horticulture; Landscaping; Botanical; Biology; Forestry; Plant Pathology/Science & Urban Planning (rural & urban); Habitat or forest/systems ecology; Environmental concerns (Management: environment, horticultural resources/environmental behavior); Environmental conservation (including engineering, etc.); wildlife science; Land management; and/or other related or related topics.
