Alpha Omega Chapter
Alpha Omega Chapter 2060, of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International, will meet at 10 a.m. on April 2 at the Autumn Glen Community Center in Stephens City. President Laura Cain will chair the meeting. Ann Taylor, Treasurer, sent a check for $310 to the Evans Home. The club also sent a check for $110 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Since country hams have become more available, we hope to have sandwiches for June 17th. Orders are due by May 20. We will help the CCAP monthly starting April 12th.
Winchester Horseshoe Club
Registration and qualification for the 2022 Winchester Horseshoe Club season will take place from 6-8 p.m. on April 5, 12, 19 and 26 at Jim Barnett Park’s Raymond Frye Courts. Gaineboro Volunteer Firefighter Dinner
The Roast Beef and Ham Drive-In Dinner will take place on April 9 from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The meal includes mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, applesauce, a bun, and dessert. Wheels4Wellness
Wheels4Wellness is hosting a “Tablescapes” fundraiser on April 3 at Millwood Station Banquet Hall. There will be beautifully decorated tables, as well as flower arranging and napkin folding demonstrations. To purchase tickets, donate raffle items or be a sponsor, please call 540-536-1006. Wheels4Wellness is a United Way non-profit agency that provides door-to-door transportation to medical appointments and treatment for residents without transportation. Our service area includes Winchester, Frederick County, Warren County, Clarke County and Shenandoah County. In 2021, Wheels4Wellness volunteers drove nearly 33,000 miles and donated 1,367 hours of time.
NW Works Chimers
The NW Works Chimers, a partnership between NW Works and the Shenandoah University Music Therapy Association, provides musical opportunities for adults with disabilities in the community. Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the university’s Ruebush Hall, Room 128, 620 Millwood Ave., Winchester. Anyone with a disability is welcome. DivorceCare
DivorceCare is a recovery support group after a divorce (or separation). The women’s group will meet at Fellowship Bible Church every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The DivorceCare4Kids children’s program is also available for 5-12 year olds. Winchester CCAP has stopped accepting winter clothing and requires the following items:
Individual packets of baby wipes, large diapers (4, 5 and 6); jeans, sweatshirts, sweatpants, men’s t-shirts; spring clothes for women of all sizes, especially small, medium and large; children’s spring clothes (size 5T and up), pajamas, new underwear, socks; tennis shoes (all sizes and types); slightly worn bath towels and bedding; tents and sleeping bags. The North Shenandoah Valley chapter of FREE (Foundation for Rehabilitation Equipment & Endowment) is asking for donations of lightly used medical equipment to help local residents in need.
