Blackpool FC Community Trust: Walking Football improves physical and mental well-being…
Six of our veterans volunteered to sell poppies for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and raised a wonderful £337.
More than 40 veterans had a memorable day, with free tickets to watch football and learn about the Last Post’s military dedication, as well as a moment of silence to honor our fallen.
With funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Trust and the Veterans’ Foundation, the BFCCT provides a variety of provisions for our Armed Forces community.

Veterans Boxing takes place at Kingscote Boxing Gym on Lytham Road at 6.30pm on Tuesdays.
Our NAAFI break takes place at the Corner Flag at Blackpool FC Stadium on Wednesdays at 10.30am.
A walking and discussion group meet at Blackpool Cricket Club, Stanley Park, at 1.30pm on Thursday.
Thanks to the support of the Assura Community Fund, this session is followed by a Wellbeing Hub and refreshments are offered.
Veteran footballers meet for a kickabout on Thursday at Weeton Barracks from 6 p.m.
BFCCT Armed Forces Engagement Officer Tony Codling served 12 years in the military with the Royal Pioneer Corps and has spoken about his new role.
Tony said: “Veterans have had a great year of monthly trips to places of interest.
“They enjoyed Armed Forces Week in June, with various events throughout the week.
“The Jubilee celebrations started with the NAAFI Jubilee break and then some of our veterans traveled to London for the festivities.”
Last week, we joined community trusts across the country to commemorate 104 years since the end of the First World War.
Together we laid wreaths and paid tribute with a moment of silence in honor of those who gave their lives in all wars.
BFCCT would like to pay special tribute to the six Blackpool football players who were killed in the First World War and to the late Queen Elizabeth II after her death.
Our community Fylde Memorial Arboretum has a special garden commemorating the dead who gave their lives.
A plaque was recently unveiled to commemorate Her Majesty’s service to the people of the kingdom.
The BFCCT Veterans Football Team are due to take part in a friendly match against Fleetwood Town Community Trust Veterans later today on Armistice Day at Fleetwood Rugby Club.
The kick-off is given at 7 p.m. after a minute of silence and listening to the Last Post.
