As you sit back laughing and sipping craft botanical cocktails with DJs to follow your evening, it will become clear that The Terrace will be a big venue for years to come. The drinks menu is massive, and if you go overboard and declare you’re never drinking again, they have a selection of non-alcoholic bevs too. And with free admission on Fridays between 7 p.m. and 3 a.m. and lovely outdoor spaces, it pretty much ticks all the boxes.

It’s a fairly small venue, so it’s perfect if you’re looking for an intimate atmosphere, and the bands performing on stage often become some of the biggest in the world. And during the day, The Cavern is a vegetarian cafe!

The Ram Bar

It would be kind of silly for us to list the best student bars in Exeter and not include a real student bar, wouldn’t it? Located on the University of Exeter campus, the Ram Bar is always packed with students. Sorry. So if you’re looking to make friends, it’s a solid choice. And as a student bar, the drinks are already cheap. But the bar still offers discounts from time to time, like 25% off, which they offered during the Women’s Six Nations.
