Aging in Atlanta event covers activities, staying healthy and more

Bo Emerson, longtime reporter for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, shared some insights on what residents can do “out and about.” Emerson recommended Atlanta Opera’s Come as You Are festival at Pullman Yards, which will feature a new production of “Cabaret.” Green thumbs can visit the Atlanta Botanical Garden event to learn more about beekeepingalso in June.

Sharon Henderson, DNP, APRN-BC, Elder Care Nurse Practitioner at Kaiser Permanente Medicine, discussed how you should talk with your doctor about cutting back on medication, exploring reversible causes of brain changes that increase forgetfulness as we age, and how physical activity and a good night’s sleep can help memory.

Following the event, two participants were randomly selected to win $50 Kroger gift cards.
